CASE: New Skool Media

New Skool Media was founded in 2014. After the acquisition of 19 special interest magazine brands from Sanoma in 2014 and the acquisition of Elsevier from RBI, the portfolio counter now stands at 27. A few well-known titles of New Skool Media include Knip Mode, Delicious, Kijk and Vorsten. New Skool Media believes in the starting position of magazines to successfully develop and expand brands in the long term.

THE CHALLENGE

New Skool Media has different target groups, channels and publication schedules for titles. This creates a complex and busy work environment with various editorial offices and load peaks. All titles have their own copy, images and production.

THE WORKOUT

New Skool Media uses Woodwing Assets to support its editorial and design processes. In Assets, all images and the Adobe InDesign for the design are stored and shared with editors and designers. Indexing all images is essential for easy retrieval and reuse. Files are automatically indexed when imported into elvis DAM and can be further enriched with additional metadata. The Woodwing platform is managed by Graphit from the cloud.

The workout consisted of:

  • analysis
  • implementation
  • management and maintenance
