THE CHAMPION

The European head office of Yamaha Motor Europe (YME) co-ordinates all sales and marketing activities for the European market. YME manufactures motorbikes, outboard engines, water scooters and snowmobiles, among others, in 26 European countries. The European marketing division handles and coordinates all marketing activities for the 3,000 distributors and dealers

THE CHALLENGE

New brochures and promotional material must constantly be produced in 26 languages for all products. Many people are involved in this process, both internally and externally: marketing and product managers, distributors, dealers, design agencies, photographers, copywriters, translation agencies and printers. YME supports the distributors and dealers in the production and localisation of offline marketing material.

THE WORKOUT

Based on a detailed analysis of the interest groups, working methods and marketing materials, Graphit has designed a solution with the help of two software solutions.

The best-of-breed software from elvis DAM and 2imagine form an integrated platform with image bank, online editor and workflow functions. Users work in a single, central environment, where they know exactly what is expected from them and when, based on their role and workflow. Via the platform, YME arranges the automatic production of 26 different language versions of the brochures. These are sent via the workflow to the distributors, who are able to adjust the texts and images online, and choose pre-selected images per page based on wysiwyg and translator editor. Ultimately, the head office gives its approval, or otherwise, of the ‘localised brochures’, following which the print-ready files are delivered to the printers. Through the implementation of elvis DAM, YME also has a solution for the management of image and video material for all online and offline communication.
