THE CHAMPION

New Skool Media was established in 2014. Following the acquisition of 19 special-interest publication brands from Sanoma in 2014, and the takeover of Elsevier from RBI, its portfolio count now stands at 27. Some of the better-known New Skool Media titles include Elsevier, Knip Mode, Delicious, Zeilen, Kijk and Vorsten. New Skool Media believes in the power of publications to successfully develop and expand brands in the long term.

THE CHALLENGE

New Skool Media has different target groups, channels and publication schedules for its 27 titles. This results in a complex and busy working environment with various editorial departments and deadlines. All titles have their own copy, image material and production.

THE WORKOUT

New Skool Media chose an editorial workflow and the infrastructural configuration of the editorial and design departments.

They chose elvis DAM for the management of all visual material and Adobe InDesign for the design element. The indexation of all visual material is essential, in order to easily find and re-use images. Upon import, files are automatically indexed in elvis DAM and supplementary metadata can be added. For a stable working environment, New Skool Media chose an Apple server configuration. The workout consisted of:
