THE CHAMPION

As one of the world’s most famous fashion designers, KARL LAGERFELD is well known internationally for its ambitious and pioneering style. KARL LAGERFELD produces a wide collection of clothing for men and women, as well as accessories, handbags, watches and (sun) glasses. In 2014, the collection was expanded to include fragrances and in 2015 the company launched its online flagship women’s store, via Karl.com. In the spring of 2016, the brand portfolio was expanded to include a collection of children’s clothing.

THE CHALLENGE

The design department of Karl Lagerfeld in Amsterdam has 20 designers, which support the company’s collection and communication activities. Due to the intensive design activities, the 20 Mac users regularly run into systematic technical problems. The Adobe applications become frozen on a regular basis, leading to delays and inconvenience.

THE WORKOUT

KARL LAGERFELD has chosen to alleviate the load on the system by setting up a Mac server environment. This creates a new, stable and easy to manage ICT environment. To ensure security and continuity, the data is synchronised with an external data centre. The servers are managed remotely by Graphit.
